# Choose a practice mode

> Choose an activity for your study goal.

Pick a mode that matches the skill you want to practice, then configure the session.

**1. Open Practice**

Open [Practice](https://app.vocabmonster.com/practice).

**2. Review the available modes**

Modes are grouped by skill (definitions, synonyms and antonyms, context, spelling, timed). The full list is in [Games and practice](/help/using-the-app/games-and-practice.md).

**3. Choose a mode and configure the session**

Select words, session size, replay, and an AI model when the mode uses credits. See [Choose words for a practice session](/help/using-the-app/choose-words-for-practice.md).

**4. Start and follow the on-screen instructions**
