# Edit a custom word

> Update a word you created.

Update the word, definition, part of speech, or example sentence for a word you created. Catalog words are edited by refreshing dictionary data, not this form.

**1. Open Library → Words**

Go to [Library](https://app.vocabmonster.com/library) and choose **Words**.

**2. Open the actions menu on a custom word**

Custom words are entries you added with **Create New Word**.

**3. Choose Edit word**

Update the fields. Word, definition, and part of speech are required.

**4. Save changes**

The updated card is what practice and collections will use.
